What is review gating, and why we don't do it
Review gating means asking customers how happy they are first and only sending the happy ones to Google. Google's contribution policy prohibits selectively soliciting positive reviews, and the FTC's 2024 rule on consumer reviews treats review suppression as unlawful in the US. Nomisly therefore never decides who sees the review link based on sentiment.
Frequently asked questions
When is the best time to ask for a review?
Shortly after the service while the experience is fresh: same day for salons and clinics, after payment for home services.
Can I offer a discount for reviews?
No. Incentivised reviews break Google's policy and, in the US, the FTC rule. Nomisly's templates never offer rewards.
Does it reply to reviews?
Drafting replies to Google reviews through the Business Profile API is on the roadmap; today you can see and track requests and clicks.
